Established in 1965, our esteemed founder, Anwar Qazzaz Abu Dawood, rooted a profound passion for gourmet coffee. Leaving Jerusalem in the 1950's, he explored the coffee-rich lands of Brazil. Abu Dawood delved into the intricacies of coffee beans, immersing himself in the diverse assortments and distinct coffee farms. Through extensive travels across the Brazilian countryside and beyond, Abu Dawood sharpened his expertise and headed back to the Middle East where he founded his first roastery, Al-Anwar Roastery. His relentless dedication led him to experiment with a variety of coffee types sourced from various corners of the world. Through these explorations, he masterfully created exquisite blends that still electrify the senses to this day. Immigrating to the United States in 1994, Abu Dawood embarked on a journey to pursue the American Dream, giving rise to Abu Dawood Turkish Coffee. Today, the legacy of Abu Dawood lives on through Qazzaz Coffee, and Abu Dawood Turkish Coffee where the artistry and passion he instilled continue to flourish.
